Championship
Time. Coolmeen V Kilmihil.
Coolmeen got off to a double score victory in the first round of the Championship on Sunday at Labasheeda Park. The
final score was Coolmeen 0 – 14 Kilmihil 0 – 7. Cathal O’Connor was responsible for six points for the winning
team while David Neenan scored four and Shane McMahon, Kevin McMahon, Alann Marinan and Kieran Neenan score one each. The
game got off to a fast pace with three points over the bar in the first ten minutes for the Black and Amber. Kilmihil never
seemed to be a threat for Coolmeen. The winning team, had been well prepared by former experienced Clare footballer Tommy
Tubridy of Doonbeg. Now Coolmeen look forward to their next outing o f the A Championship.
Crowds
throng to Murty’s of Tullycrine.
On Sunday afternoon Murty’s Bar came alive with a huge influx of people for the live music and Bar B Que, organised
by the West Clare Kidney Support Group. There was lots of open air dancing to the sound of Ml Sexton, Alan Kelly, Noel McLoughlin,
Dal gCais and Twice Shy. The day and night ran off smoothly thanks to the efficient staff, traffic stewards etc! It was similar
to the ‘Oxygen’ Concert – a huge success.
Death
Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Shannon family
(Cranny & Thurles) on the death of Carmel Shannon beloved wife of Raymond. Arrival of remains to St. Mary’s Cranny
on Monday evening, funeral Mass will be on Tuesday. ‘Jesus you have prepared a place in Heaven for all who are faithful
to the end’ Holy Mary Mother of Perpetual help, pray for us now and always.
Thought
for the Week
When the night is the darkest, that’s when one lone candle makes the biggest difference.
Rain
& Sunshine
If you need rain – pray to God. If you need sunshine –
pray to God.
